Festival of Trees

This year my mom was so sweet to treat my sister and I to a girls day at the Festival of Trees! It was such a fun time- to see of of the beautiful trees and read all of the inspiring stories is truly amazing. Such a great holiday tradition- I can't wait to see everything again next year!

Brett's Work Christmas Party

Again this year Brett's work headed to Wendover for their Christmas Party... Talk about a PARTY! There was lots of food, drinks, and of course a little gambling! We didn't hit the mega-million but we did have a good time with friends and co-workers!

What an amazing party! Happy Holidays everyone!

Brandie's Work Christmas Party

I have such an amazing job! We work hard and play hard! My company alternate between service and fun for our Christmas Parties! Last year we did an amazing service project gathering gifts for Candy Cane Corner and this year we celebrated with some FUN! This year my bosses were so generous and booked us a suite at the Utah Grizzlies Hockey Game! We had some good food and watched an even better hockey game! And what a game it was! This season when the Grizzlies score 5 goals the fans are treated to a FREE meal at Rumbi- So all of us were cheering loud and proud! The team actually scored 5 goals before the end of the second period! Just when we thought the game was over the Canadian team came back and tied the game up within 2 minutes! It came to a shoot out but the Grizzlies managed to pull out with a win! GO GRIZZLIES!

Thanks for an amazing night everyone! We had a blast!

A little hockey action!

A Work In Progress...

So we started this project at last months Country Bum Creations craft class. I LOVE IT! I think it is just the cutest idea. While almost everyone finished their projects that day I decided to wait until after the holidays... I am hoping Santa will bring us a new bedspread set so I can decorate the star to match it! :)

Everyone had such cute finished projects! Some used greenery and berries to decorate and others used flowers and fabric... I am hoping to use a little combination and make it one cute star- - - Stayed tuned for the finished project!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

More Than A Day
By Karl Fuchs
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we're poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.

We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We're wealthy, when push comes to shove.

So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you've got;
Realize it's a lot,
And you'll make all your cares go away.

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Halloween!

Halloween was such a blast this year! We had lots of fun parties to attend and lots of catching up to do! With work and school we just don't get out enough- but when we do we sure have a good time! This year I dressed up as a pirate and Brett dressed up as a nerd! He was such a good sport and I have to say he was one sexy nerd! I am glad I snatched him up when I had the chance! This year we started the weekend off with a Pre-Halloween Party at Brett's cousin Peter's house. Peter and Sumer had one of the best costumes I have ever seen! They were Dog and Beth from "Dog the Bounty Hunter"! They were so funny and played the part all night! My goal for next year is to find Brett and I a fun couples costume! Then Saturday we headed to my parents for their annual Halloween Party. And another night of fun it was! By the end of the night Brett and I pretty much passed out! :) It was a good thing we had Sunday we rest and recuperate!

Mid-Terms... and the cold bug

Well, it's that time of year again... MID-TERMS! :(
That time of year when your ready to pull your hair out and start to wonder just why you put yourself through the torture of college! Stress, lack of sleep... and to think I have so much more left to complete! I had three mid-terms this year all back to back followed up nicely by the assignment of two large term papers. It was enough to send me into the psych ward but luckily my hubby was here to save me! He helped me study and get through a long week. And how do I repay him... well, I passed along the cold bug I had picked up during the week of craziness. Poor guy has been huddled up with me on he couch all weekend! Thank god for movies and cold medicine and SUPER FABULOUS HUSBANDS!

Visit to Wyoming

This past Saturday and Sunday we got to spend some time with my dad in Wyoming. My dad and uncle just recently moved into a new house so we decided to head down and check out the new digs! They have a really nice place, definitely big enough for the whole family to pack into! While we were there we also got to do some catching up with my grandma and aunt- and of course there was some shopping and spoiling of the grand kids! Saturday night we got to try some amazing Chinese and Sushi! If you are ever passing through RockSprings, Wyoming you have to stop by Bonsai! Seriously this was some darn good food! I can't even tell you how much food we ate that night! My sister even tried some of there Sushi! :)It was a really fun and relaxing weekend and were looking forward to our next visit!

*** no picture of the house yet but it's coming soon***

A Good Friend and A Class of Wine

It's true what they say... A Good Friend and A Glass of Wine! While the boys are away hunting we girls decided to get together for a little ladies night fun! Defiantly the rest and relaxation we all needed after a jam packed week of craziness! We had some mussels for an appetizer (SO delicious by the way), salmon, salad, and asparagus for dinner and of course some good wine. We had such an amazing night! We talked and laughed until the early morning hours but I tell ya it was so worth it! I just love these girls! Thanks for such a fun night ladies!

Missing Daddy

While Brett has been away at the cabin hunting Duke has really been missing his daddy! Every diesel vehicle that passes gets Duke up and running to the back door hoping in just a few short minutes his daddy will walk through the door. After about the third time this happened this weekend this is how I found our little baby... laying on the floor with his favorite toy just waiting for his daddy to come home!

Weekend FUN with our Guncles!

This past week my uncles stopped in for a visit. My cousin just recently had a baby so they were on their way to meet their new grandson! (Congrats Brittany!) Well on their way back to California they stayed at my mom’s for a few days. We were able to get in some quality chit-chat, manicures and pedicures, and of course shopping! Friday we had full day of FUN and RELAXATION! After lunch and pedicures we headed up to Tiapan Trading for some shopping! We got some really fun stuff! If you have not been up there in a while you have to check it out- They have a new jewelry and purse line that is SO CUTE! After all of our fun my Uncle Fred spoiled us with some delicious food. My uncle is an executive chef and I have to say he is a pretty darn good one! He made so much delicious food this weekend I can not even tell you- SO GOOD! I think I may be the worst cook on the planet but he has defiantly inspired me to try some new things! It was so great to see them. Hopefully next summer we can sneak away to California to visit them!

Spa Fun!

Ringling Bros. Circus

Circus Time! You have to love when the circus comes to town! Every year the circus comes to SLC right around my birthday. Well this year I finally found a way to convince my husband to go- - - we bought our nephew a ticket for his birthday! We had a lot of fun! I highly recommend it! Hey, any excuse to be a kid again!

A little pre-party with the animals!

Birthday Fun!

This past weekend was full of lots of birthday fun! When I woke up Saturday morning Brett had a full day of fun planned for me. I woke up to some great coffee and a husband ready to take me shopping! What more can a girl ask for! Once we got ready we headed up to Logan to get the new and improved snowmobile and then we headed to the mall for some lunch and birthday shopping! I have to say I was completely spoiled this year! My hubby and parents got me some pretty darn cute cloths. I got a cute purse from my sister, a fun fall dinner with cousins and friends, a delicious dinner with my in-laws, and lots of birthday well wishes! Everyone made it such a special weekend. I have to say so far 25 is turning out to be pretty alright!

Happy Tuesday!

Well today was a day for the record books! I followed up my crazy Monday with an even better Tuesday! A little background for you- - - My little Ford Focus has really been testing our patients lately. First the front door lock randomly stops working, then the passenger window breaks, followed by a horrible shaking sensation, and last but not least what we thought was a battery problem has turned into a WE HAVE NO IDEA PROBLEM! So back to today… I frequently drive into downtown Salt Lake for work and while I was completing my picks-ups and drop-offs my airbag light turned on followed soon by a complete shut-down of my little car. NOTHING WORKED- EVERYTHING WAS DEAD! So here I was broke down on Main Street in SLC, unable to reach Brett (he has been working in the middle of no where and rarely has service) and being screamed at by the wonderful SLC folks I was finally able to get a hold of my dad. Since the battery was just replaced we came to the conclusion that it was the battery cables. So we headed back to Bountiful … 5 jump-starts later we finally made it back home! Once back home we did some shopping at the auto part stores and then dad and Brett got started on the repairs. After a few more trips back to the auto part store my dad and Brett were able to get my little problem child back up and running. Little did we know the Focus had one more surprise in store for us! While we were talking and loading up the car it suddenly died again! SO, we are back to square one hoping that some of the shop mechanics can give us some insight into how we fix our little problem! All I can say is THANK GOD for the men in my life… I would be lost without them. Both of my dads are so patient with me and are always running to my rescue when Brett is out of town and my sweet husband, always reassuring me that everything will work out! They really are the best life savers a girl could ask for!

My lifesavers hard at work!

Utah State Fair

It’s that time of year again- STATE FAIR TIME! All of the fun activities and tasty food! Trust me don’t think you’ll stick to your diet when you go to the fair! I think Brett and I ate enough food between the two of us to feed a small army! Our favorite had to be the funnel cakes! This year we also met up with some of my sisters good friends and spent the afternoon checking out the carnival attractions, farm animals, food, and of course fun shopping booths! It was a lot of FUN! We definitely preparing for next year!

Fun times on the BIG Slide!
Grandma and Grandpa bought some tickets for my nephew but he was not too excited about this part of the fair so us "big kids" enjoyed the slide a few times!

SLCC Here I Come…

Well, I am back in the saddle again! (hence why I am SO behind with blog posts ) This last week I started the 2009 fall semester at Salt Lake Community College. Hello late nights, long lectures, and tests galore- - - goodbye weekend fun! I have three courses this semester and then two more next semester and then I will be ready to transfer to the University of Utah… let’s just say by the time I finish my masters and pre-law programs all of my nieces and nephews will have graduated high school and maybe college themselves!:) Oh the joys of school!

Weekend Craziness!

As most of you know from my previous post my sister got married on August 21st. (Congrats McBrides!) Well, while they were on their honeymoon their little guy stayed with Brett and I. We were so excited to have him stay with us but a little nervous at the same time! This was the first time Brett and I have ever had one of our nieces or nephews for a long period of time but thanks to some help from grandma and grandpa we made it out alive! It was defiantly an experience but so much fun! We were able to go to lots of fun places while he was here and even when we were home it was always a good time! We definitely spoiled him while he was here- but hey isn’t that what aunts and uncles are for! :)

It was so nice to see all of our family and friends… and the celebration was so much fun! Enjoy your honeymoon guys- - - Best Wishes!
