Mr. and Mrs. Cody Evans

On April 10th Brett and I were honored to help his family celebrate his cousin Cody's wedding. Cody and Megan were so cute and completely in love. Cody has always been the older cousin looking after all those crazy boys so to see him with Megan just melts my heart. Without a doubt one of our favorite couples! Brett and his cousins are very close so in turn all of the women in their lives have become very close. We have all become an amazing group of friends so to finally officially become family was awesome!

Their weddings was so beautiful! Seriously seeing all of the flowers, dresses, and delicious food made me want to marry Brett all over again. Brett's cousin Casey is the next to get married and his amazing fiance Ashley did all of the flowers- they were SO pretty! It was such a beautiful ceremony and the reception was amazing! The Evans Family sure knows how to throw a great party! Congrats Cody and Meg- We love you both!

A little taste of wine country

So my dad's company was just recent acquired by another company and as a result my dad has a new President/CEO and I must say I like him already! :) When the two companies first merged he invited everyone to his home for a dinner. My dad was so blown away. This man had a home people can only dream of. My dad said it was absolutely amazing and to top it all off he had a wine cellar in his basement. My dad got to talking to him about wine and of course my love of all things wine. The last time they met up a few weeks ago he had just returned from a trip to California's Wine Country and surprised my dad with a few bottles of wine for Brett and I. We loved it! Let's be real here, Brett and I are not rolling in the dough so we don't typically buy expensive bottles of wine so to get treated to not only one bottle but three thru us over the edge. We have loved sampling the wine! It's been amazing with everything from pizza to steaks!

My dad was so sweet. He surprised Brett and I last weekend with our bottles of wine and all the wine accessories to boot! It was a wonderful weekend full of delicious food and red wine!

Race for the Cure 5k

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer. In 1982 that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and launched the global breast cancer movement. The Salt Lake City Affiliate of Komen for the Cure is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community joining more than 1 million breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure® the Salt Lake City Affiliate has invested over $3 million in community breast health programs in Davis, Salt Lake, Utah and Weber Counties. Up to 75% of the net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays in the Wasatch Front. The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research. For more information call 801-363-3367 or visit komenslc.org.

This year my mom and I are honored to participate in the 2010 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k at the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City. This is a cause very near and dear to our hearts. Many women in our lives have had and beat cancer. One of those women being my grandmother, Sharon Kay Sullivan. Although my grandmother passed away many years ago she has remained in our hearts forever and has continued to guide us through life. This year my mom and I will be racing in her memory! I urge you to participate in this worthy cause, together we can race for the cure!

Is it true?????

I have a new love in my life.... the iPhone!

Well, I have actually developed a "love" for all things apple! Crazy since the only apple product I own is an iPod. Still I am obsessed! I literally have an a wish list that is a mile long! :) We are going to blame this obsession on Brett. A few years ago he got my an iPod for my birthday and well it changed my life! I use that darn thing for everything... in the car, working out, at work, and of course at home! In recent weeks I have come in contact with friends and family who have the iPhone and I can not get enough of it! This little gadget is seriously amazing! I MUST HAVE ONE! Had Verizon issued the iPhone when it was originally released I no doubt would have been the first in line! Well rumor has it Verizon will be getting the iPhone within this next year!!!! A girl can only dream...

30 days and counting...

Exactly 30 days from now I will a semi-college graduate. I say semi because I have a long way to go before I finish law school but I will finally have a degree... just an associates degree but a degree! Now I just have to make it through the last month! I have 1 huge paper to write, a presentation on the Utah State Legislature, and 2 final exams and then I'm home free! Home for summer break! Home relaxing with NO homework, NO studying for exams, and NO more late nights! 30 days and counting baby...

Happy Easter!

Brett and I had a wonderful Easter weekend this year. We started our Easter celebrations off on Friday. We headed up to Logan Friday night so we could celebrate with my sister and her family Saturday morning. We had such a fun time. My sisters little guy is getting to that age where he soaks in everything so it was fun to hide Easter eggs and eat all his junk food. He had us laughing and playing from the time we arrived until the moment we pulled out of the driveway. :) We actually got to die some Easter eggs with them while we were there- 54 eggs to be exact!!!! Yes my sister and I got a little carried away... it started out as a family activity but after about the third trip to the store the only ones left at the table were my sister and I. We literally went through four boxes of dye and several dozen eggs and we enjoyed every minute of it! We are all going to be eating hard boiled eggs until next spring!!!

Saturday afternoon we headed home and straight to the hospital to meet my cousin Chase's new baby boy-Cute little Niko. I tell ya Chase and Daiana sure have one of the cutest babies! A handsome little Brazilian to spoil! Luckily Saturday night Brett and I were able to have a little date night! Sushi and Shopping at the Gateway Mall... can you ask for anything more?!?! It's been awhile since we had a date night so we were excited to get out. We decided to give Happy Sumo a try and were so glad we did- I highly recommend the lettuce wraps and bacon crunch roll- DELICIOUS!!! And lets not forget the shopping! Brett and I walked away with a few new summer cloths and of course a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! Now that's what I call a perfect date night!

Sunday we were able to sleep in and enjoy a relaxing Easter morning before heading over to Brett's parents house for Easter dinner. We had such a fun time there as well. We were able to watch our niece and nephews hunt Easter Eggs and dig thru their Easter baskets- seriously we have some of the cutest nieces and nephews on the planet! Makes us wonder what we did for entertainment before they were all born. And of course we had to end Easter with an amazing Easter dinner! I can not even tell you how much I love honey baked hams- I seriously could eat a whole ham by myself!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter as well! Happy Spring!
