HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

A quick shout out to our wonderful father’s. Brett and I are so lucky to be surrounded by so many great dads. So to our dads and brother-in-laws HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! You all are an amazing group of men and we are so lucky to have you in our lives! We hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day- WE LOVE YOU!

Metro Games

This week Brett and I participated in the 2009 Metropolitan Games. For those of you that have never heard of this it’s a pretty fun little competition. They have a bunch of events to choose from and then companies from the Wasatch Front compete with each other for prizes and medals. My work participates every year and this year Brett and I got to join in on the fun. There were so many fun games to choose from but this year we signed up for Paintball and Golf! Yes, Paintball… Brett wanted to play so bad so I decided to just go for it. Brett ended up having to work that night so I had to play by myself.  I was a little terrified at first but was able to enjoy it a bit more each game. We did fairly well only missing the semi-finals by 2 points! I made it out alive and only had a few bruises so it was a pretty successful night! We also played in a Golf Scramble this weekend. It was lots of fun but very cold and rainy. We defiantly had a great time and can’t wait for next year!

Look Out Tiger!

Tiger Woods here I come! Okay, so I am not quite there yet… but I swear I am gonna get there! Nearly everyone in Brett’s family and a large part of my family golf so I decided it was time for me to learn how to play. I "played" a few games last year but I decided this was the year I was going to actually learn how to play. My dad and Brett’s mom really set me up! I got some nice clubs from my dad and a pretty dang cute bag and a few more clubs from Brett’s mom (thanks mom evans and dad thompson!) We gave it a little test this week. We practiced on the range during the week and then played in a scramble for my work on Saturday. It wasn’t too bad… I had one AMAZING hole so that was good enough for me! Brett couldn’t stop laughing! I think I set the record for the most hits… well misses on the golf course in a week’s time! You wanna test your marriage--- have your husband teach you how to golf! You make it through a golf game still speaking to each other and you’re golden! THANKS FOR BEING SO PATIENT WITH ME BABE! I LOVE YOU!

Bridal Shower

Yesterday we were in Riverton, Wyoming to celebrate my sister’s impending nuptials with all of our family members there. My aunt had planned a cute little Holiday Themed Bridal Shower for her. I had never been to one of those before but it was a lot of fun. She got so many cute holiday decorations. We had a great time with all of our family and friends- - - although it was a quick trip it was nice to catch up with everyone!

Demolition Derby

Saturday my sister and her finance invited us to a Demolition Derby in Ogden. We used to go to derby’s a lot as kids but it had been awhile since I had been to one. My sister’s future cousin-in-law (JD) was participating in the truck portion of the derby. It was complete craziness! I was on pins and needles the whole time. Every crash just about gave me a heart attach mean while my husband and sister we trying to figure out where they could get a car so they could join a demolition derby- can you say nut jobs!  The trucks had everyone cheering. JD was awesome! He nearly tipped another truck over! It was so much fun but I will defiantly be in the bleachers watching!
