Happy Tuesday!

Well today was a day for the record books! I followed up my crazy Monday with an even better Tuesday! A little background for you- - - My little Ford Focus has really been testing our patients lately. First the front door lock randomly stops working, then the passenger window breaks, followed by a horrible shaking sensation, and last but not least what we thought was a battery problem has turned into a WE HAVE NO IDEA PROBLEM! So back to today… I frequently drive into downtown Salt Lake for work and while I was completing my picks-ups and drop-offs my airbag light turned on followed soon by a complete shut-down of my little car. NOTHING WORKED- EVERYTHING WAS DEAD! So here I was broke down on Main Street in SLC, unable to reach Brett (he has been working in the middle of no where and rarely has service) and being screamed at by the wonderful SLC folks I was finally able to get a hold of my dad. Since the battery was just replaced we came to the conclusion that it was the battery cables. So we headed back to Bountiful … 5 jump-starts later we finally made it back home! Once back home we did some shopping at the auto part stores and then dad and Brett got started on the repairs. After a few more trips back to the auto part store my dad and Brett were able to get my little problem child back up and running. Little did we know the Focus had one more surprise in store for us! While we were talking and loading up the car it suddenly died again! SO, we are back to square one hoping that some of the shop mechanics can give us some insight into how we fix our little problem! All I can say is THANK GOD for the men in my life… I would be lost without them. Both of my dads are so patient with me and are always running to my rescue when Brett is out of town and my sweet husband, always reassuring me that everything will work out! They really are the best life savers a girl could ask for!

My lifesavers hard at work!

Utah State Fair

It’s that time of year again- STATE FAIR TIME! All of the fun activities and tasty food! Trust me don’t think you’ll stick to your diet when you go to the fair! I think Brett and I ate enough food between the two of us to feed a small army! Our favorite had to be the funnel cakes! This year we also met up with some of my sisters good friends and spent the afternoon checking out the carnival attractions, farm animals, food, and of course fun shopping booths! It was a lot of FUN! We definitely preparing for next year!

Fun times on the BIG Slide!
Grandma and Grandpa bought some tickets for my nephew but he was not too excited about this part of the fair so us "big kids" enjoyed the slide a few times!

SLCC Here I Come…

Well, I am back in the saddle again! (hence why I am SO behind with blog posts ) This last week I started the 2009 fall semester at Salt Lake Community College. Hello late nights, long lectures, and tests galore- - - goodbye weekend fun! I have three courses this semester and then two more next semester and then I will be ready to transfer to the University of Utah… let’s just say by the time I finish my masters and pre-law programs all of my nieces and nephews will have graduated high school and maybe college themselves!:) Oh the joys of school!

Weekend Craziness!

As most of you know from my previous post my sister got married on August 21st. (Congrats McBrides!) Well, while they were on their honeymoon their little guy stayed with Brett and I. We were so excited to have him stay with us but a little nervous at the same time! This was the first time Brett and I have ever had one of our nieces or nephews for a long period of time but thanks to some help from grandma and grandpa we made it out alive! It was defiantly an experience but so much fun! We were able to go to lots of fun places while he was here and even when we were home it was always a good time! We definitely spoiled him while he was here- but hey isn’t that what aunts and uncles are for! :)

Seriously if it wasn’t so much stress Brett and I would get re-married every year (don”t tell Brett I said that)! There is always such new and beautiful stuff to fall in love with! It was so nice to see all of our family and friends… and the celebration was so much fun! Enjoy your honeymoon guys- - - Best Wishes!
