Uncle Gee!

So a few years back Brett and I took a trip to San Fransisco to visit my parents to visit my moms brothers. Both of my uncles had lived there for a while and fell in love with a little tea store in China Town. They went there so often the owner became a very good friend- to them he was Uncle Gee! Always there to give them advise, some great stories, and of course some great tea! So a few years back when we came to visit they couldn't wait to take us to visit their friend Uncle Gee! He was SO funny. Very old school but very funny! He told us so many stories-I think we spent more of our vacation with him than we did sight seeing in San Fransisco! :)  Brett and I were newly engaged and he was all set and ready to give us advise on how to have a happy and successful marriage- And of course every problem we would ever come across in our lives could be solved with a tea and a splash of sugar leaf! He was so fun! After trying so many different teas (we literally were sick after all of the caffeine intake) we got a tour of the store and the huge storage area, took some pictures with Uncle Gee and he sent us home with bags and bags tea to take home! It was a great experience... well many years later my moms other brother, our guncles took a trip into China town a low and behold guess what they seen on Uncle Gee's wall... OUR PICTURE! So many years later and he still have us up on his wall! Brett and I have been sitting here all night reminiscing about that trip and how wonderful Uncle Gee was to us! It just goes to show how some people you come across in the most random places stay with you forever! Hopefully some day we get to go back to San Fransisco and visit Uncle Gee again soon!

Thank you for sharing this picture with us guncles! It was a great blast from the past!

We're moved in and.........settled?!?!?

Well... we're moved in and finally ALMOST settled. Most of the boxes are nearly unpacked and decorations are going up. Now we are preparing for painting and making it our own! Stay tuned we got some before and after pics coming! We're home owners now so this is probably all you will be hearing about for a while... our to-do list seems to grow by the second!

On a side note- THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who helped us move and unpack! We have the best family and friends on the planet! We literally would still be on box #2 if it was not for all the help we received! Once we get things in order we will definitely be having you all over for some food and drinks! THANK YOU AGAIN! We love and appreciate all of you so much!

Another house update!

Well, I wish this update was to tell you we are finally home owners but it not :(

Let's just say they make you jump through a few hoops to get a mortgage loan! The plus side iswe know our loan is going to be done right and we will not be in a situation millions of Americans are now in--- the down side... WE WANT TO MOVE ALREADY!!! We have been approved for closing with conditions which in a nut shell means we have to re-submit more paperwork to prove more and more we are not psycho money laundering drug dealers! (For the record we are not!)! Keep in mind this is the same paperwork we have already submitted 3 times but now they want updated paperwork with a few more additions...I tell ya if we don't have to sign away our first born at closing I will be totally surprised! Well we have re-submitted that paperwork again for what seems like the millionth time and are now just waiting for a final approval to close- word on the street is that should come today or tomorrow...

For now we'll just keep thinking about "our" house and pray we close by the end of this month!!!

Thank you is never enough...

Thank you is never enough but we owe a HUGE thank you to my sister and her little ones for all of there help this weekend. Luckily they were able to hang out with us all weekend but unlucky for them we put them to work. My sister cleaned our kitchen like a mad women- - - if you need and oven cleaner she is your gal! She about killed me- little did I know a stove top actually needs to the burners removed ever now and again to be cleaned... in my defense I AM NOT VERY GOOD IN THE KITCHEN! I promised my sister to clean the stove in the new house more often! :) And her little guy, we'll he was Brett's packing buddy. He sure can tape some mad boxes! :) Because of them we were able to get the apartment pretty much all packed up and completely deep cleaned! THANK YOU GUYS! We owe you BIG TIME!!!

House Update....

Well the house passed the home owners inspection with only a few minor "safety" updates as the inspector would call them! He definitely made Brett's honey-do-list a little bit longer! :)

In other news the FHA appraisal did not go so well..... The appraiser failed the hot water heater and the rain gutters... luckily when we signed a contract with the bank we asked for them to make any required FHA appraisal repairs which they will do we just have to wait on them to do it! So the waiting game begins- - - come on bank work quickly... we're ready to move!!!

Ahhh the Utah State Fair!

Ahhh... the wonderful tastes of the Utah State Fair. This past weekend we headed to the fair with my family for some good ol' fashion fun and of course CRAZY food. This year we decided to give the CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON a try... YUMMY! If you do nothing else this September GO TO THE STATE FAIR AND TRY COME CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON! So, So good.If it wasn't $4.50 a slice I would have sat there and ate bacon all day long! The men in our family didn't enjoy it nearly as much as us women but then again what woman doesn't LOVE chocolate!!!

Who would have thought...

Who would have thought we would have ever had 3 car seats in that big ol' red truck!!!

We're under contract!!!

YEP! We found a HOUSE!!! We wanted to keep things under wraps until we finally knew everything was ok inspection wise and it seems like everything has now gotten the GO AHEAD!!! We are so excited! We officially went under contract this week! It's a bank owned property so things take a little longer than usual but were hopeful everything will work out and we'll be in our FIRST house soon! We have lots of inspections and appraisals to go thru but were so excited to finally have a house picked out! The house is in pretty good shape but we're defiantly excited to get in their and make it our own... we've got so many ideas and plans we've been dying to put into some good use! We can't wait to get started! There will definitely be one rockin' house warming party when we finally get settled in!

Cross your fingers and hope all goes well and we're moved in by the middle of October!

Enjoy some pics of our new digs courtesy of our realtors website- - -more pics to come soon!!!

Francis-Evans Wedding

A few weekends ago Brett cousin Casey got married! It was such a fun wedding weekend! We had some delicious Korean BBQ on Thursday after the rehearsal and then Friday we partied all day long! Us girls enjoyed some pampering at the Garden Day Spa in Bountiful (they did an amazing job on our hair and make-up!)!!! Then  we all headed into SLC to pamper the bride and help her get ready for her big day! Ashley was SO calm... it was crazy! I swear I was a crazy woman the day I got married and she was calm as a cucumber! It was so fun to have such a chill environment! We literally nibbled on some snacks and laughed all afternoon! It was a blast! The boys kept themselves occupied with some lunch at RedRock... They said they didn't do much else but I am sure we all know the truth :)

It was an amazing wedding! So pretty! Ashley is one talented event planner! Her flowers are amazing! Seriously this couple knows how to throw a party and their wedding was no exception! Congrats Evans'!

Horseback riding adventures...

This past weekend our awesome brother-in-law Josh took us on an amazing horseback riding adventure. I say adventure because we were not even out of the parking lot before Brett got bucked off... yes i said bucked off!!! He is doing fine just a little bit sore on the bottom... those rocks hurt when you fall! :) After Brett collected himself we started up the mountain and ran straight into a rattle snake! I was ready to turn around and head back home... I figure we barely left and we already have had 2 incidents but we kept on! So glad we did! It was a great ride through thge Logan Mountians! Thanks Josh- best horse guide ever!

p.s. sorry no pictures... I am retarded and pressed delete instead of transfer...

Pool+Pizza= FUN

This past weekend Tayeson and I were finally able to get in the water! He has been banned from water due to having a PICC Line in from his stint in  the hospital and I have had to steer clear of water to avoid infecting my surgery incisions. So now that we both got the go ahead we devised a little plan to party hardy in the water! With grandma and grandpa's help our water wishes came true! We had a few hours of FUN and LAUGHTER with our awesome family! Honestly I think we adults had more fun than Tayeson did. I think my dad was in seventh heaven-I wouldn't be surprised if we catch him playing in the kiddie pool by himself! :) Seriously this was so fun! My parents paid like $30 bucks for this pool but the fun we had was totally priceless!

Take one slide add in one kiddie pool and you've got hours of backyard water fun!

Ending the night with some yummy pizza!
I know lots of pictures... but there were too many funny ones to leave out :)

FUN with BIG Brother Tayeson!

So while my sister was in the hospital we shared babysitting duties with my parents. We all wanted it to be a really special weekend for Tayeson- I mean come on becoming a BIG BROTHER is a VERY BIG deal! So to kick off the weekend before meeting his new baby sister we took the little man to McDonald's for breakfast. My dad was able to convince him to eat some pancakes before playing but after that he took off and headed straight to the play place... i think an hour later we were able to convince him his baby sister was probably here and we should go see her! I am pretty sure that little nephew of ours could live at McDonald's if his parents would let him!

We were able to spoil him with snow cones (aunties favorite), milkshakes, and fireworks all weekend! We were all beat by the end of the weekend- him well he was still running around like crazy when we were pulling out of the driveway... GOOD LUCK Sis!

Having a good time on the slide!

Wishing he could play...
And yep... that's my husband!
