House Hunting Day #1

Yesterday we hit the pavement with our realtor and looked into some of the homes we are interested in! Although we have been internet shopping so some time we have found pictures on the internet are definitely different than what we see when we drive by and the houses are most definitely different when we get into the house! The day started off with a bit of a bummer... one of the houses we were pretty interested in went under contract that morning so we didn't even get a chance to look before someone else snagged it up! But we carried on, looking at a few houses in Bountiful. Everything we found in Bountiful were small starter homes that needed a little TLC. We knocked a few out right away and one we were on the fence about so we headed to Layton. Brett and I have been really struggling with Layton... were just not sure we want to move so far away from nearly all of our family and friends. I know it's only 15 minutes away from Bountiful (we timed it yesterday and yes we were going the speed limit :)!) but were just not convinced... well until yesterday that is! We did find a diamond in the rough! A cute house built in the 1990's that has been completely remodeled! It bigger than we need right now but there is so much room for our little family to go into! Huge yard! Good area! And it's definitely big enough for us to have a few friends over for entertaining! This cute house definitely gave us some things to think about so check back...

Go JAZZ Go!

Brett and I were lucky enough to attend a Utah Jazz Game with Brett's cousins a few weeks ago. We had SO much fun! Brett sister and her husband have taken us to a few games as well and I tell ya it never gets old! Brett and I love going to the games! We are Jazz Junkies! We try to catch most of the games on TV so were pretty excited when we actually get to go see them live! It was a really fun night! We all got to catch up with all the cousins and their ladies at dinner before the game and then enjoyed watching the Jazz beat up on the Mavericks! GO JAZZ!!!

Diamond in the Rough?!?

Yesterday Brett and I were able to meet with our Realtor! We were so excited! She is amazing! We all definitely hit it off! She was so sweet and kind- took all the time in the world to walk us through the step by step process of buying our first home! It seems a little overwhelming right now but she promised us she would be right there by our sides to walk us right into out very own home!

We did some searching on the internet with her yesterday and its defiantly a tough market out there. With the economy the way it is many of the homes for sale are short-sale properties... A process were being told can be very long, grueling, and disappointing a lot of the time but were hoping out of the handful of houses that peaked our interest we will be able to find our first home! Keep your fingers crossed for us and let the countdown being!

We’re in the market….

YEP! It’s true! We are finally in the market for our first house!!! We have gone through the pre-qualification process and our now looking for our very own house! We were thinking this was going to be a pretty quick process but were finding this might take a little bit longer than we want it to. We have come across some great finds and some pretty scary finds as well. Brett's parents live next door to a realtor so were hoping with her on our team we can find that perfect starter home! We are just crossing our fingers and hoping we celebrate our third anniversary in a NEW HOUSE!

Snowmobiling

Brett and I spent some time at the beginning of January up at his cousin Peter's cabin. What a FUN way to ring in the NEW YEAR! It is beautiful up there and so quite and peaceful! The trip started out a with a definite bummer... Brett has been having MAJOR problems with his snowmobile this year and literally 15 minutes into our first ride his snowmobile broke down again! Luckily his cousins are die hard snomobilers just like Brett is so there were plenty of extra snowmobiles for us to ride! It must have just been the weekend for breakdowns because we ended the weekend with 3 snowmobiles totally out of commission! When we weren't riding we were eating up a storm and having lots of fun. I have never ate SO much food. Now I know why Brett loves spending so much time at the cabin... those boys cook like they are cooking for royalty! We literally had a full course meal at every setting! Us girls got a little spoiled with these men cooking us such great dinners every night! But hey it was delicious and that's all that matters! We had so much fun with all of this cousins- it was definitely a NEW YEAR to remember! Hopefully next year we can bring in the New Year the same way!

All the surrounding cabins meet down at the parking lot and have a HUGE bon-fire to ring in the New Year! It was the largest fire I have ever seen! It was awesome!
